FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

REPUBLICAN HINDU COALITION ANNOUNCES FULL-THROATED SUPPORT FOR TRUMP ADMINISTRATION EXECUTIVE ORDER ON IMMIGRATION & WILL HOLD A PRESS CONFERENCE AT CAPITOL HILL CLUB AT 7:00 PM ON TUESDAY, JAN 31ST, 2017 January 29, 2017 After discussion in today’s Board Meeting, the Republican Hindu Coalition announced its support for the Trump Administration’s Executive Order on Immigration. The Order indefinitely barred Syrian refugees from entering the United States, suspended all refugee admissions for 120 days and blocked citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries, refugees or otherwise, from entering the United States for 90 days: Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. In further clarification of the Order, Citizens of these 7 countries who hold Green cards were excluded from this Order except that there would be additional scrutiny on these people, as per current law. “We applaud the Trump administration for taking this decisive move to protect our citizens from Islamic terror,” said Shalabh Kumar, Chairman of the Republican Hindu Coalition. “A firm stance against terror is one of the pillars of our organization and one of the central tenets of the Trump campaign, and we fully support our Commander-in-Chief taking the necessary steps to protect our country.” The Republican Hindu Coalition also voted to approve the following further steps for executive action: • Inclusion of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia in the countries named in the Executive Order. • Thorough investigation of green-card holders from the banned countries, in the 90-day ban. • Heightened scrutiny and inspection of all travelers heading to the countries listed in the ban. • Indefinite suspension of all refugees from entering the United States (extending the 120 ban indefinitely).
“While Americans do not discriminate, and this is a country that encourages legal immigration and celebrates the contributions that immigrants have made to our culture, it is

about time we get serious about combating the dangers of terrorism on our shores,” said Mr. Kumar in a statement. “Do any of us want to take the risk that Woodfield Mall in Chicago will be the next target? If allowing these people into the country will increase that risk by even a minimal amount, that is not a risk we should take.” RHC Leadership from DC area shall hold a Press Conference at 7 PM on Tuesday Jan 31st, 2017 at Capitol Hill Club to address the issue of the Executive order, particularly as it applies to Indian Citizens. *Note: The location of the Press conference is tentative, but would be around that area, to be confirmed by the end of Jan 30th.
