Kumar took the lead in forming the RHC to promote conservative principles such as free markets and limited government, to advance Hindu Americans in US public life, and to strengthen India-US strategic relations.
Built on the model of the Republican Jewish Coalition, the organization set out to be active in the coming presidential and congressional elections and to give the Hindu-American community a unified voice within the Republican Party.
